Trust and data
Where your material goes when you make a film with TalkSlate, who processes it, how long we keep it and how you delete it. This page describes what the software does today. Anything we have not confirmed yet says "to be confirmed".
Where your files are stored
Your account, your uploads and your films are kept on our server and in private storage on Amazon Web Services. Files are reached only through short-lived links. Hosting region as deployed: to be confirmed.
Who processes your material
Each provider receives only what its step needs. Where each one processes it: to be confirmed.
| Provider | What for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | Writes the plan, the script and the shot list, and translates when you ask | Your idea or brief, the full text of the documents you upload and the web pages you import, and the plan and script it wrote. When you lock a cast, the cast pictures, so it can describe them. |
| Replicate | Makes the stills and the video clips | The written prompt for each still or clip, and its reference pictures: the cast, sets and products you approved or uploaded, sent as short-lived links to our storage. |
| ElevenLabs | The narrator's voice, for narrated films only | The narration lines. Narrated films are off on the live service unless we switch them on; whether they are on in the pilot is to be confirmed. |
| Tavily | Web research, only when it is switched on and you start a research step | The search questions for your film. Whether research is on in the pilot is to be confirmed. |
| Amazon Web Services | Runs our server and stores files and backups | Your account, your uploads, the stills, clips and films we make, and database backups. |
| Mail service (to be confirmed) | Sends account emails | Your email address and the message: a password-reset link, a notice if your account is suspended, or your invite request, which goes to our support inbox. |
We use no analytics or advertising services. When a page fails, your browser sends a short crash report to our own server, not to anyone else.
How long we keep it, and how you delete it
- Your account and your films stay until you delete them. To delete one film, press Delete beside it on the Films page; a published film asks you to type its title first.
- To close your account, open Settings and use Delete my account. You confirm with your password, and it erases every film and everything you uploaded. There is no undo.
- After you delete your account we keep your credit history, your payments and the record of which terms you accepted, with your name and email removed. How long: to be confirmed.
- Deleted files leave our storage within 30 days. Database backups are set to expire 35 days after they are made, plus up to 7 days to purge the old copy; the setting on the live service is to be confirmed.
- Invite requests are deleted 90 days after we answer them, or after 180 days. Crash reports are deleted after 90 days.
AI labels and the free-tier watermark
- Every film we make shows a visible "AI-generated video" label. You cannot switch it off.
- Every film file also carries a tag that reads "AI-generated video made with TalkSlate", so software can tell it is AI-generated.
- Films made on free credits also show a "Made with TalkSlate" watermark. A free account downloads the final film only; separate clips and stills come with a credit pack.
What we do not claim
- We hold no security certification, such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Whether each provider may use what it receives to train its models: to be confirmed for each provider.
- This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
